Do you want to help us look after some of the brightest and exciting leaders of the future in a beautiful and historical environment? Are you cheerful and enjoy dealing with people from all sorts of backgrounds? Are you hard working and thorough enough to make sure the job is done properly?

At St John’s College we are looking for people who will do their best to understand the needs of the college and to put those needs first when they are at work. Because of this we believe that the attitude you bring to work and the way you choose to behave is even more important than your skills or experience.

St John’s College is looking to appoint an experienced standards-orientated Functions Manager on a full time basis to manage the staffing and service provision for lunches, dinners and College feasts and functions both internal and external to the College. A full knowledge of silver service, together with other styles of food, wine and beverage service is essential. Previous staff management experience of large teams is essential. Knowledge of Allergy Regulations and Food Safety HACCP regulations is also essential.

The weekly 39.25 hours will be worked over a 7-day roster on a shift pattern that changes weekly to cover lunches, dinners and other events. However, a degree of flexibility will be required to meet business needs.

The College offers a competitive benefits package including membership of a contributory pension scheme, 36 days’ annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), access to a ‘cash plan’ healthcare scheme currently provided by Simplyhealth, free life cover, onsite gym facilities, uniform, free meals on duty (up to a specified monetary limit) and free parking close to the College site.

The closing date for the receipt of completed applications is 12 noon on Wednesday 26 July 2017. It is proposed to hold interview on Thursday 3 August 2017.
