PROFILING A SIERRA LEONEAN SUPER STAR ABU FADIKA aka ABFAD

Abu Fadika known by his stage name AbFad is sierra Leonean song writer, recording artist, video director and also a singer known for his Afro pop music across the Africa continent and beyond was born in London on December 21st. Being born to a sierra Leonean parents who were both medical practitioners (a burn specialist surgeon and a nurse) respectively and like most Africa children, he was sent back home to sierra Leone after 6 month by his parents to learn the culture and experience growing up in sierra Leone.

AbFad who is presently residing in the US state of Atlanta Georgia is a college graduate from eastern Michigan University which is based in Ypsilanti, Michigan USA and currently holds a degree in paralegal studies/business. Before that, he had travelled and lived in many Africa countries like Botswana, Namibia, Uganda and other where he derived his sound from been around different cultures, races and countries as well as he was exposed to private school and exotic cultural dances and music such as “Kwaito”; a very popular dance in the southern Africa, hip pop and R&B from the western world.

AbFad is currently pursuing his music career and has been atrending in the Sierra Leone music industry, especially after his collaboration with Nigerian musician and dance artist, MC Galaxy of Nigeria. He had recorded many songs some of which are making hits in the continent and his musical videos had been trending on social media platform like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and YouTube with 72,190 viewers and also on African television station MTN and others.

He had also been nominated for the NEGA Award 2015 nomination and was also the first invitee for the BET 2017 international Award. Biography of Collins Archie-Pearce: A Sierra Leonean/Nollywood Actor

Mr Collins Archie-Pearce was born in Freetown Sierra Leone, West Africa. He left Sierra Leone in 1991 for the UK and furthered his education at Croydon college where he studied Business Management and graduated in March 2008. Mr Collins Archie-Pearce started his career as an actor in the late 70s, when he was at secondary school in Sierra Leone. He was later trained with the British Film Institute (BFI) where he developed his acting & directing skills.

He has lived in the UK since 1991, has proudly produced several popular/ international acclaimed Sierra Leone films including: ‘Ibu in Sierra Leone’, ‘Devil in Freetown’, ‘I Can’t get you off my mind’, ‘Flight 442’ ‘The British Expert’, ‘Banjul my love’, ‘Transform’, and Co-produced ‘The Menace’, ‘Broken Cross’, ‘The Soul’ etc. Most of these films were shot in and Sierra Leone and a couple of those films are being shown on major airlines across the world.

He was the first Sierra Leonean to take the most popular Nollywood Actor John Okafor (Mr Ibu) to Sierra Leone in 2013 to produce the most popular Sierra Leone internal acclaimed film titled “Ibu in Sierra Leone” and this film is currently showing in most major airlines across the world. The film (Ibu in Sierra Leone) was rated and scored by the Nollywood critics 10 out of 10. This was the first time in history a Nollywood/ African film has been rated 10 out of 10. This undoubtedly put Sierra Leone on the map and majority of entertainers in the western world were contacting Mr Collins Archie-Pearce for guidance on how to produce & direct proper films. The films is being watched all over the world on Iroko TV and on major airlines (in-flights).

In 2014, Mr Collins Archie-Pearce in his quest to improve Sierra Leone films/film industry, surprisingly invited four Sierra Leonean actors and film producers (from Sierra Leone) to the UK to attend an acting & film production training session organised by the “British Film Institute” (FBI) and to subsequently feature in one of his film productions, titled Flight 442.

In 2015, Mr Collins Archie-Pearce further invited other four Sierra Leonean Actors and film producer to the UK, to associate with other actors & film producers (in the UK), thereby given them an opportunity to enhance their film producing and acting skills. Mr Collins Archie-Pearce insisted that he will never stop doing what he is doing until Sierra Leone is worldly recognised and fully put on the map of entertainment.

Hundreds of entertainers received him at the Lungi International Airport in Sierra Leone with dance troops and banners. The death of Sallie Adama Kargbo is announced in New York on Wednesday January 31st 2018. She is survived daughter of her parents Minister of Finance Momodu Kargbo and Jennifer Kargbo and her sisters Manja Kargbo-Abdulai, Tiamatta Kargbo and Connie Kargbo. Born in New Jersey, Adama move to Sierra Leone at the age of four and later lived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. How would you describe yourself? I am me. I strive to be best that I can be.

How long have you been doing music? I am 8 years in the music now

Why music? Because I love music and how it makes me and people feel plus I have a voice with music. I can write about anything I want.

What songs/projects have you worked on and which one is your favourite and why? I’ve worked on a lot of things. You can check me out on YouTube. It’s hard to pick because all my arts are like my babies. I can’t pick a favourite.

Are you working on any current project? If so please give details including flyers or promotional materials…Yes I am. I just finished a 7 song EP that’s dropping soon. And of course my new single that’s out right now “how I like it”.

Which other artist/entertainer have you worked with or would like to work with? I’ve worked with a few. Suga B in “fittin gbet” and Heaven jay with “love is blind” I still have a few people I want to work with. We are still making moves. Kele kele.

Where do you see your self in the next 2-3 years in the Music/Entertainment Industry? To be honest. I’m not sure. I’m getting older. I’m sure I’ll be starting my own family my God’s grace. the music is always going to be a part of me. So it’ll always be here.

Your Challenges? being a woman in a man’s world is a challenge on its own. But I’m doing my best.

Your proudest moment to date: Performing living in a full stadium.

If you were not doing music/or not in the entertainment industry what did you want to do as a second option? Probably would be starting my nursing career. I was in medical school when the music hit me.

Do you have any future dates planned such as events that you might want the readers to know about?
Im heading to Sierra Leone soon. I plan on doing a tour this December.

Your advice and tips for individuals that want to follow your footstep/career path? Believe in what you do. And be yourself. No one is like you. It’s hard but if you really want it do it your way.

Our client a prestigious private equity-held savings and investment bank is looking to hire an experienced Digital Banking Business Analyst to join their team in London.

Your new role

Your responsibilities will include digital banking, digital customer account opening, and other products and services offered in the digital banking channel such as payments (including FX conversions), mobile banking and statements.
Key tasks include:

  • Support, own and deliver all changes on the digital banking platforms including requirements documentation, creation of process and data flows, data modelling, workflow context and design, business architecture mapping, customer experience mapping, traceability, business concept documents, use cases, user testing planning, and user test execution.
  • Lead and facilitate the business requirements gathering process from end-to-end across the organization using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, and other methods needed to deliver outstanding business requirements to Technology delivery partners.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into manageable requirements.
  • Work with product and operational owners to identify and transform new product and/or operational requirements.
  • Interface with vendor partners on requirements and solution analysis interpretation and review to deliver the optimal requirements solutions for integration with the digital banking platform.
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute and support their processes related to digital banking and recommend efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the organization both within the business and Technology, and partner with SCRUM and QA engineers on product development and business testing.
  • Partner with technology teams and function as the “business customer” within SCRUM delivery methodologies to own and represent the business requirements and business product backlog.
  • Provide business subject matter expertise and leadership during triage and resolution of production issues. Resolve any questions, issues, or conflicts with business requirements between business units or between business and Technology.
  • Participate and contribute to the overall Digital Banking product strategy and roadmap.
  • Own and maintain the creation or updating of other business procedures, user documentation, training materials or help guides as necessary.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Degree in IT, banking, business analysis or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a business analyst in customer adoption and consumer-facing technology, preferably in the retail banking.
  • Prior experience in requirements gathering, process mapping, user testing and customer ownership in SCRUM methodologies for delivery of online, mobile, digital, or other consumer facing technologies.
  • Experience in customer experience modelling and UI/UX designs.
  • Proven track record of ability to collaborate across organizational lines.
  • Experience managing multiple business initiatives and product implementations.
  • Proficient with documentation and project management tools including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, SharePoint, Project, JIRA, Confluence.
