Freetown, Sierra Leone: 28 January 2026 — The Sierra Leone Film Council (SLFC) has officially submitted a concept proposal to the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) seeking a strategic partnership aimed at increasing the visibility and growth of locally produced films on national television.

The proposed initiative, titled “Sollywood Hour,” is designed to provide dedicated airtime on SLBC for Sierra Leonean film content. The programme would feature:

  • Official trailers of upcoming productions
  • Behind-the-scenes footage
  • Profiles of actors, directors and production crews

According to the Film Council, the objective is to revive public interest in local cinema, highlight industry talent and strengthen national appreciation for Sierra Leone’s creative sector.
