NaME-C Concludes 4th AGM and Elects New Leadership in Freetown
The National Movie Elders Council (NaME-C) has successfully concluded its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 6th and 7th February 2026 in Freetown, marking a significant milestone in strengthening ethical leadership and professional standards within Sierra Leone’s film industry.
About the National Movie Elders Council (NaME-C)
The National Movie Elders Council (NaME-C) is a moral and advisory body within the film sector established to:
- Preserve institutional memory
- Uphold ethical and professional standards
- Guide the sustainable development of the film industry
The Council is composed of respected and active actors aged 40 years and above, serving as custodians of industry values, traditions, and professional discipline. NaME-C provides guidance and advisory support to filmmakers, guilds, unions, associations, and the Sierra Leone Film Commission (SLFC), drawing on decades of collective experience.
Day One Highlights – 6 February 2026
The first day of the AGM focused on:
- Reviewing past council activities
- Strategic positioning of NaME-C as the moral guarantor of the industry
- Constitutional amendments
- Development of a long-term strategic plan
The constitutional amendment session emerged as the major highlight of the day, laying a foundation for improved governance and structural clarity within the Council.
Day Two Highlights – 7 February 2026
Day Two centred on:
- Financial accountability discussions
- Member welfare matters
- Executive elections
The elections marked the official conclusion of the previous executive tenure, ushering in a newly elected leadership team.
Newly Elected NaME-C Executive Leadership
Following the voting process, the following officers were elected:
- Elder Idrissa Kaikoh Kamara — President (85% of valid votes cast)
- Alhaji Okeyan Conteh — Secretary General (87% of valid votes cast)
- Al-Idriss Bailal Kamara (Demo) — Technical Head (80% of valid votes cast)
In accordance with the Council’s constitution, the newly elected President is mandated to appoint the remaining executive members within twenty-one (21) days after the election.
NaME-C’s Continued Commitment to the Film Industry
NaME-C reaffirmed its dedication to:

- Preserving institutional knowledge
- Strengthening professionalism
- Supporting industry regulation and mentorship
