Pregnant Serena Williams posed naked on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine

The tennis star found out she was expecting her first child with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian just before the Australian Open in January. She told the magazine that she hadn’t suspected anything until she was sick at the side of the court while practising. But her friend suspected she might be pregnant and suggested taking a test.

Serena ended up taking a test while doing a photo shoot for a lingerie company at an Australian hotel and said her “heart literally dropped” when she saw the result.”Oh my God, this can’t be – I’ve got to play a tournament,” she said. “How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year.”

Her friend Jessica was then sent back to the hotel chemist to buy five more test kits to convince Serena that she was pregnant. All of them were positive. The article also reveals how Alexis and Serena started dating in 2015. He proposed last December at the same table at the Cavalieri Hotel in Italy where they’d first talked to each other.

“I felt like a door had been opened to a person who made me want to be my best self,” said Alexis.
“I find myself just wanting to be better by simply being around her because of the standard she holds.”
The 35-year-old has been forced to defend herself this week after John McEnroe claimed she’d struggle if she played on the men’s circuit.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion told NPR radio station in America: “If she played the men’s circuit she’d be, like, 700 in the world. “If she had to just play the men’s circuit, it would be an entirely different story.” Serena Williams tweeted to ask John McEnroe to keep his thoughts to himself.

Facebook hits two billion users

0

More than a quarter of the world’s population now uses Facebook every month, the social network says.

“As of this morning, the Facebook community is now officially two billion people,” founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg posted. The milestone comes just 13 years after the network was founded by Mr Zuckerberg when he was at Harvard.

He famously dropped out of the university after launching the global social-networking website.
The internet giant announced it had one billion monthly users in October 2012, meaning it has doubled the number of its users in just under five years.

The firm’s continuing growth will confound critics who have long predicted that the social network’s growth would slow down as rivals such as Snapchat stole its users. Earlier this year, Facebook warned that growth in advertising revenues would slow down. Nonetheless, Mr Zuckerberg’s ambitions remain huge.

He told USA Today the firm had not made “much fanfare” about hitting the two billion figure because “we still haven’t connected everyone”. “What we really care about is being able to connect everyone,” he said. The firm’s rapid growth has put pressure on its ability to moderate violent and illegal content posted on its site.

The most recent high profile incident involved a man in the US posting a video of himself to the site, showing him shooting and killing an elderly man. Last month Facebook said it was hiring 3,000 extra people to moderate content on its site.

I am FATMATA KOROMA and Fullah by tribe. I am 20 years of age. I was born in the Eastern part of sierra Leone, Calaba Town to be specific but raise in Freetown. I am the 2nd child to my father and mother out of three children.

I started attending Saint Theresa Primary School and later move to the Saint Benedict Catholic Junior Secondary School and continue my senior secondary school at Holy Family Secondary School. Am currently studying MASS COMMUNICATION at SOS college. I intend to study law after I completed my current course.

I was brought up by my grandmother who was so caring towards me and believe in me more than any other family members. She understood me so well and I love her very much. My father and mother are currently living in a town called Makitta in the Northern Province of Freetown, Sierra Leone.

I started fashion and pageantry at the age of 12, because when I was little, I had so much passion for fashion and pageantry and they gave me a stage name which is called QUEENISH.

In 2008 I was selected for my first pageant competition locally name MISS MARSHALL where I won it as my first crown and first appearance. My second local competition was MISS BASSCOTEL in 2010 which I also won as my second crown. In 2012, I was called up for MISS EASTERN 2012 and I won it too. In 2013, I went for MISS HOLY FAMILY, my senior school competition and I was emerge as the winner. Immediately I was contacted again for MISS INTER SCHOOL BEAUTY PAGEANT 2014 and I also won it. In 2015 I went for MISS DIASPORA at Sierra Leone in my country and I won it again.

Then 2016 I went to compete for MISS FREEDOM OF THE WORLD SIERRA LEONE and won it so after that competition, was I told that I have qualified my country for the first time in history for MISS FREEDOM OF THE WORLD 2017 INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT IN KOSOVO, which will take place on the 3rd to 14th July in PRIZEN KOSOVO where I will be representing my country. Its going to be my first international pageant competition after gaining lot of experience locally and won all my pageant competitions that I have entered.

My dream is to become the best international beauty queen in Africa and the world and also to win this year MISS FREEDOM OF THE WORLD 2017 competition in Kosovo for my country as my first appearance so that I will make my country proud because its the first time Sierra Leone will be taking part in the competition.

Since my childhood, I have always dreamt to be the face of something not just because I am beautiful but a face that can bring positive difference to other people lives especially women and children.

I believe in child empowerment, because I believe the children have a brighter future and can be on a better place if they get all the necessary support and protection. Because of all what I have seen children are undergoing, I am currently working to establish an orphanage with education centre for the children. With the orphanage I will be able to help them to become a grate people and achieve good things in life. I want  to be supporting and advocating for the children empowerment as well as education so that they can be able to voice their options when needed and give them a better future.

I am a woman and I believe in every children. I stand to secure the welfare of the children and I want each and everyone of the kid’s parents to support me. With them all, we can create a better place for the children and even the unborn ones.

I AM FATMATA KOROMA and I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and don’t forget to make your donations at my go fund me page.
